The paper describes the GUSMP (North Sea Route Directorate) expert council session on design of a powerful icebreaker 18000–24000 HP held June 15, 1935 in Leningrad, based archive documents. Analysis materials sheds light state-of-the-art building mid-1930s. standpoint academician A.N. Krylov as well administration is particularly interesting.
